If, for some reason, you as the owner of your vehicle, want to manage a marketplace trip yourself while it's being managed by Hassle-Free Car, you certainly can. While this is extremely rare, we understand there are some cases where you might want to do this, such as if a renter had booked your car before you began working with Hassle-Free Car. These same policies apply if Hassle-Free Car is providing service for only the start or end of a trip instead of both.
In scenarios such as this, be sure you're aware of the following:
The original marketplace trip will be Cancelled in our system (not in your marketplace) and an owner trip will be booked for you. To do this, request an owner trip for the vehicle, allowing enough time before and after the trip to pick it up from us and then return it back to our facility.
Documentation and Reimbursements
You will be fully responsible for requesting and paying for all reimbursements, including, but not limited to, fuel, parking tickets, tolls, vehicle cleaning, etc. You will be solely responsible for uploading photos to the marketplace and any other documentation that may be needed to support a reimbursement, etc.
You will also be solely responsible for documenting and report any and all damage to the vehicle caused during this trip.
You'll be responsible for all communication with your guest at the point that the trip is cancelled in our system. If you use an HFC-assigned phone number, be sure to manually provide them your direct phone number instead so they can communicate directly with you as opposed to reaching out to our team.
If the vehicle is returned to us, we will still clean the vehicle like normal, however you will be responsible for any cleaning costs that may be incurred if there are any.
If the vehicle is returned to us at the end of your owner trip, the vehicle will be checked in per our normal process and you'll be provided with all of the photos and documentation you normally receive.
If you're having one of your guests swap into or out of a vehicle we do not manage, you will also need to be responsible for contacting the marketplace to coordinate the swap on their end. We cannot handle vehicle swaps for vehicles we don't manage.
